Joanna Gill - Composer
Joanna is an Award-Winning Composer for Film, TV and Concert music, published by Universal Editions.
Joanna was commissioned by His Majesty King Charles III to write a Song in the Scot's language; Doric, as a dedication to Her Majesty Queen Camilla at the Honours of Scotland service in 2023. Joanna premiered a second choral piece for their Majesties and was invited to Direct the music with her own choir; 'Voces Illuminae' at a special service held at Crathie Kirk, Balmoral in the presence of their Majesties, and the Duke and Duchess of Rothesey (William and Katherine).
Joanna orchestrated on the popular Netflix show: 'The Night Agent 2' which reached no.1 on Netflix in 90 countries alongside Composers Robert Duncan and Timothy Williams.
Joanna's debut Classical Choral album 'Love Illuminates' released in 2023 with record label Regent Records, Directed by Sarah MacDonald. Joanna's music has also been performed on BBC Radio 3 by the BBC Singer's, as well as with the London Symphony Chorus and Orchestra, and in multiple venues including: The Royal Albert Hall.
Joanna has that natural ability to capture a range of moods and styles in one piece and is both at home with choral and symphonic writing. Joanna is not just invested in the notes on the page, but the players, singers and audience for whom she is penning each inspired note for.
When not writing music she is usually paddle boarding down the river thames... or attempting to play the bagpipes!
